Form here follows technique, with the design of the Link taking its cue from methods used for shaping and bending, which offer a strong three dimensionality. The “link” is a metal element joining the backrest’s two wings, while the slot in the backrest gives the chair a light, airy feel. In wooden models, the oblique grain, which has an almost graphic quality, recalls the veins of a leaf, reinforcing the chair’s natural appearance.
