For modern Japanese citizens, the kimono is a symbol of discretion, grace and respect for tradition. It is these qualities that inspired designer Pascal Bosetti when designing Kimono. The similarities between the chair and its source of inspiration can be seen in the prominent seams, which accentuate the visual aspect and separate the armrests from the seat – just like the sleeves and rear section of a real kimono. The Kimono chair is molded, ensuring it will retain its distinctive curved shape for many years to come.
